Mike Quesenberry
Knife making for me has always been an art form I continually refine. After a full career as a locomotive engineer with Union Pacific Railroad in California, I am now retired and able to devote more focused time to my craft.
I began my bladesmithing journey focused primarily on fixed blade knives, dedicating myself to mastering foundational forging, heat treating, and fit-and-finish techniques. Over time, my interests evolved and I transitioned to concentrating mainly on folding knives, where precision, mechanical function, and tight tolerances demand an even higher level of discipline and detail.
All of my work is created under sole authorship, from design through final finish. I take great pride in maintaining control of every step in the process. I also enjoy occasional collaborations, as they offer an opportunity to exchange ideas and push creative boundaries.
I forge my own Damascus, allowing me control over material performance, pattern development, and structural integrity. From raw material to finished knife, each piece reflects my commitment to craftsmanship and continued improvement.
