Knifemaker Biography

My name is Andrew Smith, and I began making knives in 2008 when I was 15 years old. In the beginning, I made knives out of railroad spikes. Soon I began making tomahawks out of bar stock and ball peen hammers. For years, I only made railroad spike knives and tomahawks. Then after some years, I realized I was limiting myself, and I began to expand my boundaries and surround myself with knife makers better than myself. ​

​I still have a deep love for tomahawks and axes, and I do not see myself ever giving those up. However, I am constantly pushing the boundaries of my skills and making more difficult pieces.
